During a meeting with voters, leader of the ruling Law and Justice party ( Prawo I Sprawiedliwość) Jarosław Kaczyński vowed to protect “traditional values”, which are “the core of our civilisations”, blaming minorities for “corrupting” the youth.
According to Kaczyński, „a new type of culture” is imposed on Poland.
“It is proposed to reject what was the foundation of the development of our civilization with a normal family, a constitutional, lawful family, that is, one man, one woman, and children. And with everything that comes out of it. The right of parents to raise their children the way they want, to protect their children from demoralization, to protect from madness” – said Kaczyński.
Same-sex marriage or registered civil partnerships are not allowed in Poland.
The former prime minister referred to the issue of gender reassignment. – There are those who say that each of you can say: “no, from today I am a…” (laughs). We will defend common sense. […] I always talk about it with the fear that I will make a mistake, but it is already in the chromosomes. And we just want to defend it – said the president of the Law and Justice party.
This is a reference to previous comments, in which Mr Kaczyński jokingly talked about people, who don’t identify with the gender assigned at their birth, which caused a public backlash from a substantial part of the Polish society. Voters of the ruling party seem less concerned about such a language.
