At just 20 years old, Tytus Gołas from Szczecin founded Tidio, a live chat tool that has swiftly become one of the fastest-growing solutions in its field worldwide. The company’s remarkable journey from a local startup to an international success story is a testament to Gołas’ innovation and determination.
Gołas, now 32, shared his extraordinary story in the “Stories of Success” program, produced by the Polish Entrepreneurship Foundation and wSzczecinie.pl. Despite early challenges and limited success with initial business ideas, Gołas’ persistence paid off when he launched Tidio, which has since gained substantial global traction. Today, Tidio is used by businesses of all sizes across the globe, with over 99% of its clientele based outside Poland.
“Tidio started when I was testing various business ideas and managed to create a product that the market received extremely well,” Gołas recalled. Initially, he handled programming tasks himself, maintaining low costs and allowing him to explore and refine his business concept.

Innovation and Investment
Tidio’s innovative approach quickly attracted attention from major investors, including some of the world’s largest funds. Recognized by Forbes as one of the fastest-growing startups, Tidio has become a key player in the live chat market. Gołas himself was recently nominated for the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award by Ernst & Young, joining the ranks of notable entrepreneurs like Rafał Brzoska of InPost.
Despite his success, Gołas remains humble. “I focus more on what I haven’t achieved rather than what I have. I’ve been running this business for 12 years and constantly think about how we can improve and what we still need to accomplish,” he said.
Navigating Challenges and Embracing Learning
The path to success was not without obstacles. Gołas candidly discussed the early difficulties he faced, including server issues in 2015 that caused significant stress. He emphasized the importance of recognizing one’s strengths and seeking help in areas where others excel.
“Success in business is largely about relationships, especially with the people you work with. The biggest fun in business comes when you work with people who are on the same wavelength,” he noted. This focus on collaboration and learning has been central to Tidio’s growth.

Tidio is now the fourth most popular live chat tool globally, utilized on over 300,000 websites and reaching more than 500 million unique users monthly. This is a remarkable achievement for a startup from Szczecin and a testament to Gołas’ vision and leadership.
