Iga Świątek has secured her place in the French Open final after defeating Coco Gauff with a decisive 6-2, 6-4 victory in the semifinals. Świątek will compete against the winner of the match between Jasmine Paolini and Mirra Andreeva for the championship title on June 8.

Świątek, the top seed and a favorite for the title, demonstrated her prowess on the clay courts of Roland Garros. The Polish star began the match with a strong start, breaking Gauff’s serve in the opening game and maintaining her lead throughout the first set. Despite a brief challenge from Gauff in the second set, Świątek’s consistent and powerful play led her to a straight-sets win.

The match began with Świątek breaking Gauff’s serve, a move that set the tone for the rest of the set. Świątek faced a breakpoint in her first service game but managed to hold, displaying her resilience. The first set concluded with a 6-2 win for Świątek, showcasing her strategic play and control over the game.

The second set saw Gauff take a brief lead after a bathroom break, winning the first game and breaking Świątek’s serve to lead 3-1. However, Świątek quickly regained her momentum, winning four consecutive games to take a 5-3 lead. Despite missing two match points, Świątek secured her victory on her serve, winning the set 6-4.

Świątek’s impressive form continues as she advances to her fourth Grand Slam final. Her next opponent will be determined in the semifinal match between Jasmine Paolini and Mirra Andreeva. The final promises to be a thrilling contest as Świątek aims to add another French Open title to her accolades.

The final of French Open will take plane on Saturday 8th of July.

Iga Świątek, the reigning world number one, has been in exceptional form throughout the tournament. She has a remarkable record against Coco Gauff, having won 10 out of their 11 encounters. Świątek’s success at Roland Garros, where she won her first Grand Slam title in 2020, underscores her dominance on clay courts. As she prepares for the final, the tennis world eagerly anticipates whether she can secure yet another major victory.
