Polish Ministry of Health reported on Thursday 57,659 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The ministry said 262 people with SARS-CoV-2 had died.
The 57,659 new infections reported by the health ministry on Thursday are the highest daily figures since the beginning of the pandemic in Poland. So far, the highest number of infections was in the report from Wednesday, January 25 (53,420) and Saturday, January 22 (40,876).
The number of active cases, i.e. Poles who are currently infected, is 709,875 and is the highest since the beginning of the pandemic in Poland.
The ministry said in a report on Thursday that 262 people with COVID-19 had died. 183 of them had coexisting conditions.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 4 million 695 thousand 435 coronavirus infections have been recorded in Poland. 104 thousand 636 people have died due to COVID-19.
On Wednesday, the ministry reported a record 53,000 420 new infections. 274 people have died due to COVID-19.
On Thursday, a week ago, 32,000 835 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Poland.
