A 69-year-old woman driving a Porsche crashed through the front of an open pharmacy in northern Poland after striking another vehicle and a nearby supermarket building, police said. A breathalyser test showed that she had more than two parts per thousand of alcohol in her blood.
The incident happened shortly after 17:00 on Tuesday, 27 October, in Bolszewo, a village near Wejherowo in Poland’s northern Pomeranian region.
Two people were inside the pharmacy when the Porsche Macan smashed through its glass frontage and entered the premises. Neither was injured.

Police have seized the driver’s licence and are investigating the sequence of collisions.
Porsche crashes through pharmacy entrance
According to initial findings from the Wejherowo district police, the woman struck the corner of a supermarket building before continuing into the neighbouring pharmacy.
Subsequent police information obtained by o2.pl indicated that the Porsche had also collided with a Škoda before hitting the buildings.
The vehicle broke through the pharmacy’s glass frontage, causing substantial damage to the entrance and interior.
The pharmacy was operating normally when the crash occurred.
One employee was standing behind the counter, while another person was on the building’s upper floor. Both escaped without injury.
Emergency services attended the scene, including police, firefighters and paramedics. The driver was conscious when emergency responders examined her and was subsequently taken to hospital.
Driver had more than two parts per thousand of alcohol
Police said the woman’s alcohol reading exceeded 2‰, equivalent to approximately 0.20% blood alcohol concentration.
In Poland, driving with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.5‰ is a criminal offence. The woman’s reported reading was more than four times that threshold.
Wejherowo police spokesperson Anetta Potrykus confirmed that the driver was a 69-year-old resident of the district and that officers had seized her driving licence.
Speaking to Radio ZET, Potrykus said investigators were still gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and preparing further questioning before deciding what charges to bring.
The woman had not been detained at the time of those comments, although further proceedings were expected.
Witnesses describe frightening moments
Footage circulating online shows the Porsche crashing into the pharmacy as people nearby react to the collision.
A woman working at a neighbouring florist told Radio ZET that the vehicle had initially appeared to be heading towards her and others nearby before changing direction.
She described being momentarily paralysed by fear before hearing the impact as the vehicle entered the pharmacy.
The testimony provides further detail about the circumstances of the collision, although investigators have not yet established its complete sequence or cause.
Building inspectors examine damage
The collision left the pharmacy’s frontage severely damaged.
By Wednesday morning, a temporary wooden covering had been installed where the glass entrance had been destroyed.
According to local reporting by Nadmorski24, building inspectors were expected to examine the property on 28 October to assess the damage.
The emergency response involved seven fire service units as well as police and medical personnel.
Investigators have been collecting witness statements, examining the scene and reviewing video footage.
No final decision on criminal charges or the driver’s potential penalties had been announced as of Wednesday afternoon.
