On Thursday, one of the Border Guard patrols was attacked. Migrants threw stones and branches at the officers. The guards were not injured, however, the car they were travelling in was damaged. Due to the escalating attacks, measures were taken to increase the safety of patrols and service vehicles.
In the area protected by the Border Guard Station in Białowieża, on October 19 around 8:30, Polish patrol was attacked by migrants. Officers were subjected to stones and branches thrown at them. During the incident, two windows in the official vehicle were completely shattered. However, none of the guards were injured.
On October 18th, sixty foreign nationals, predominantly from Syria and Iran, attempted to unlawfully cross the Polish border from Belarus.

As reported by the Border Guard, in response to numerous attacks on Polish border protection services, the Podlasie division of the Border Guard is currently securing and reinforcing several patrol vehicles with a specialist foil.

Officers noted illegal crossings of the Polish-Belarusian border in sections patrolled by the Border Guard stations in Michałowo and Dubicze Cerkiewne. Among the migrants were individuals from Afghanistan, India, Iran, and Pakistan. Upon seeing Polish services, 25 foreigners retreated back to Belarus.
Meanwhile, in the town of Bagniuki, officers stopped a Renault car with Moldovan registration plates for inspection. Two citizens of Moldova were in the vehicle. It was determined that the travelers were headed towards the state border to pick up a group of illegal migrants.

Since the beginning of this year, officers from the Podlaskie Border Guard Department have apprehended 471 accomplices and organizers involved in illegally crossing the Polish-Belarusian border.
