“The meeting with chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov – a defender of democratic values and an opponent fighting the regime in Moscow, was enlightening. We discussed the security in Europe, which means support for Ukraine in the face of war. After our meeting, we played a quick game of chess, which Kasparov won,” Domański posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Kasparov first claimed the world chess championship title in 1985 at the age of 22, marking the beginning of his long reign as the world’s premier chess player, a title he held for 15 years until 2000 when he was succeeded by Vladimir Kramnik.
