In Stezyca, located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, authorities were alerted to an unusual incident: a horse-drawn carriage meandering towards Golubie on its own, with its driver sprawled out on the cart, apparently inebriated. A breathalyzer test confirmed suspicions, revealing an alcohol level of 3.5 per mille in his system.
On Thursday evening, post 20:00, the duty officer at the Kartuzy police station was alerted about a horse-drawn cart moving aimlessly on the road in Gołubie with a presumably intoxicated coachman sprawled on it.
“The district officer from Stężyca verified the report and successfully halted the horse. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the coachman was, in fact, a 39-year-old resident from Kartuzy county,” reported the Kartuzy police.
“Upon checking his sobriety levels, police officers unearthed he had 3.5 permille of alcohol in his system,” reported the Kartuzy District Police Commander’s press officer, Sgt. Aldona Naczk.
The precinct officer has proposed a penalty, and the court will now determine the future course for the 39-year-old.
